In February a new elevator in Fellowship Hall was operational.

David Adler, Mark Anderson, Steve Barthel, Peter Bengston, Sue and Tony Cocozza, Bill Cox, Bud Farcher, and Frank Turmo put a new steel roof on the shed. Also the church was reshingled.

Edna Holumzer DeWitt passed away at the age of 84. The following is an excerpt from the March issue of Christ's Beacon, honoring her(1):

RIP, Edna Holumzer DeWitt, 1916-2000. Lifelong member of Christ's Church. Served as Church Council Secretary, on the altar guild, as an usher, president of the "fair ladies," and director of many Christmas pageants.

The following is an excerpt from the November issue of Christ's Beacon:

RIP, Martin Petterson, August 18, 1939-October 15, 2000. Councilman, choir member and friend for many years.

Victoria Langling, as co-founder and general director, continued to administer the Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, in partnership with area restaurants and with all the local Christian churches, the Jewish congregation, and the Onteora Teachers Association. According to Langling,

We have learned that there are many who are hungry and come to our church soup kitchen, but we have also learned that many are there for the companionship that comes from sharing a community table. Some early supporters: Barbara and Don Stephens, Carmen & David Adler, Marie Schussler aka "The Cookie Lady," Francis J. Good Neighbors Food Pantry coffers were substantially augmented in November by Make a Difference Day and by the annual Boy Scout drive. Sue Cocozza is the food pantry liaison for Christ's Church.
